Who We Are

The Beginning

Alan Eng started in the pool industry in 1987 gaining over 22 years of hands-on experience, before branching on his own. In 1999 Alan founded Sunset Pool Contractors which gained the reputation as the leading pool builders in the region. Sunset Pool Contractors changed its name in 2004 to Sunset Group and expanded its services to include every element of the outdoor living environment, beyond pools. Upon the passing of Alan in 2022, Mark and Julie Styers began ownership and continued the work that has spanned over two decades. Mark has been in the pool industry since 2001 and a leader within Sunset Group since 2007. Julie has been with Sunset Group since 2008 for administrative and accounting support. Both Mark and Julie bring years of experience in customer satisfaction.

Moving Forward

Today, Sunset Group caters to residential homeowners, Architects, Landscape Architects, home builders and contractors to provide an all- inclusive construction and design company. They depend on us in the design and construction of patios, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, landscaping, water-features, ponds, pools and spas. Sunset group has expanded outside of Maryland into Washington, D.C, Virginia and Delaware with continued high quality services.
